BLUE BUGS # 13
Yesterday we had a LOT of fun. Behind that fun, we snuck a lot of learning into our brains. We sang harmony through a round of "Are You Sleeping". We read music off the staff board and played those notes on our bells. MY WONDERFUL ADORABLE first year students are reading music!!! We did a lot of audiation, used our solfeg hand signs, did some ear training, and played the autoharp to "Bill Grogans Goat". I can truly see a huge improvement in these kids. They have learned many skills and are using them. They can keep steady beats, recognize rhythm notations and clap them, they have learned to recognize the subtle differences between the 3 major chords, they are learning to listen intelligently to classical music.... The list goes on. I absolutely love teaching this program, LOVE seeing the light bulbs come on when the kids "get it!" Thank you so much parents for being so supportive and bringing them to class.
